Reviewer A. Stagg says:
“This is a great case for the Nintendo DSi Matte – Black. Plenty of cushion to absorb shocks and a very snug fit so the cover will stay in place. Some may not like the difficulty of removing the case after you install it, but I see that as a plus. It’s built ruggedly and should stand up to wear and tear. It does make the game significantly larger to grasp, but I think it’s also more comfortable. My kids have no problems playing games with it. The hole is also cut out properly for the camera and SD cards. Overall, I highly recommend!!”

Reviewer Silent I c e Vampire says:
The search for this type of product all started when I realized that I had collected more than a handful of games (I have 17, and 1 on order), so I couldn’t keep up with them all loose or in a plastic baggie. Most importantly, to all gamers like myself, to misplace them. I pre-ordered this item, liking the small size, it didn’t look like it would take up much room in my purse, plus, I really liked the fact that it held so many games. Needless to say, the case passed my test. I’m pretty strict about what protects my games and/or systems so this is a very good buy. The case is small, almost 8 and a half inches height and width-wise. It holds games very securely, so no worry about loose games. If dropped, the case sometimes pops open, but all games stay inside. (I did test that.) The pages inside that holds the games are removable so you can store loose games in there if you want. (Removing both pages makes more storage space if you need it, but the games rattle) Remember how you had to remove a DS game from the case when you bought it? Putting the games in and taking them out has that safety feature and its the same concept. (Push from the ouside in to remove the game) Rattling is not a problem, every game is safe and secure. A great buy! Once I buy a few more games, I’m going to purchase another case, way too cute to pass up!

DSi Compact Case

This is a good investment for storing and carrying your DSi around. If you’re a minimalist like me then, I highly recommended it.The construction is pretty solid for the price and the padding is more than adequate to protect your DSi from accidental falls and rough handling (just don’t sit on it and expect your DSi to be fine though). It even has enough space to fit the DSi with the Hori clear case and stylus in it. Don’t expect to have room for the charger though or be able to hang it on your belt/strap other than that it’s a good bargain for the price so do yourself a favor and don’t buy crap ware bundles with accessories that you most likely will never use.

Reviewer Eclectic Maven says:
These cases are great! Fits the product like a glove and leaves openings for all the ports and buttons. The only thing that isn’t 100% easy to access is the volume as the case has some depth to it so the opening for the volume at the side is in a bit of an indentation. You can still adjust volume easy enough you just cant use your thumb to do it. It does look really nice though and gives some much needed color and protection to the DSI. It doesnt come with any screen protection which I personally don’t mind as they just interfere with the sensitivity of the bottom screen for me.. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the volume control and also due to the fact that this is metal and as such does give your dsi a bit of weight that you notice. Overall though I love it and would buy again!

DSi System Wallet
The outside of the case is made of canvas, and feels durable. The case flips open and is held closed with a secure magnetic closure. The inside is soft and has three elastic slots for storing your games. When you fold it all up, it is not too bulky, nor does it have any garish add-ons, colors, or zippers, tabs, buttons to get caught on. At $9.99 you can’t really go wrong.
Reviewer Gerorne says:
I didn’t want to have extra thickness added to my DSi, but I wanted to be able to protect it when not in use or when traveling, and this was my pick.
- Materials – I’m not sure what it is exactly, but the canvas material of the outside of the case feels very sturdy, and the stitching seems well done. This shouldn’t fall apart anytime soon. Fingerprints will not show up, but the downside is that lint and pet hair will find its way to the case. The inside of the case is soft, black felt to caress the DSi, and it feels like there is a thin layer of padding between the two layers for impact protection, as well a thick enough piece of cardboard to give the case it’s form fitting shape and a sturdy feel for the flap.
- Fit – The elastic bands on the sides, pulling the front and back of the case in toward each other, are what make the DSi fit so snugly. At first it was a little bit difficult to put in, but then I saw it was because of the tags sewn on the inside (like on a shirt). I cut them off, and now it slides in and out just fine. This was clearly designed for the DSi, and not a relabeled DS/DSLite product.
- Design – It’s very clean and simple. Just one fold over flap with magnetic closure. No manufacturer name branding on it anywhere, just the DS symbol sewn onto the bottom right of the flap. (Something I was missing on the DSi itself, as compared to the DSLite.) The pockets for the three games are usable, but I prefer not to, as they would add bulk to the look and feel.As an added bonus, because of the rough texture of the canvas, the micro fiber cloth that I use to clean the screen clings to the surface, and it hides underneath the flap when closed. Opening up the flap and shaking it around will not release the cloth.
Another welcome surprise functionality is the pen-sized stylus that came with the DSi Screen Protective Filter & Stylus Kit can easily be held in place by the flap after you put in the DSi, and it will not fall out while the flap is closed.
Alternatively, if I wanted to take away even the bulk of the flap, and use it just as a form fitting slip case, it seems simple enough to cut away the stitching between the case and the flap with a sharp exacto-knife or box cutter, without damaging the rest of the case. If not for the DS symbol on the flap and the versatility in storing the large stylus, I’d be very tempted to do it.
- Conclusion – It’s sturdy and designed well in terms of design and functionality. I’m very happy with this very cheaply priced case.
